Our
Impact

Women Forward International has partnered The Sakena Fund with Lynn University's Social Impact Lab to create the foundation for a virtual College Preparatory School in Afghanistan, catering specifically to women. Thanks to our donors, including the Cordes Foundation, and the support of iCohere’s secure platform, we began construction in 2024 on a fully equipped computer lab in Herat to enable online learning opportunities for Afghan women.

Leveraging iCohere’s secure platform and technical expertise, our Lynn University Social Impact Lab team is providing consulting to The Sakena Fund to launch a customized curriculum that empowers 22 Afghan women with skills for leadership, self-reliance, and personal freedom.

With technology at their fingertips and consistent support, these Afghan women will forge their own paths toward a more liberated future.

Our impact:

  • A dedicated computer lab that will serve 22 Afghan women, providing them with the tools, training, and digital access they need to unlock new opportunities.

  • A fully online curriculum tailored specifically to the learning needs of Afghan women.

WFI is directing a new film: The Hour. Donate to WFI to support this vital film.

About Women Forward International (WFI):

With programs across four continents, Women Forward International (WFI) builds creative partnerships that bridge mind and heart to bring about unity, collaboration, and service to humanity. WFI pairs teams of graduate students with in-country organizations to complete action-oriented research and implement innovative solutions, making student research and innovation matter. WFI’s partnerships encompass a range of private sector, academic and non-profit clients to identify research critical to human progress. These projects include empowering women artisans in conflict zones, enabling sustainable farming with gender equity, and taking steps toward the elimination of hunger along with inclusive access to education through digital and other unique platforms. WFI also channels the transformative power of Art, when inspired with love, to bring about human unity. All research also goes to WFI’s chief partner, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), for a resource library of best practices.
